Thumbelina
A Brief Synopsis
There was a girl the size of a thimble born of a flower petal. Her name was Thumbelina.
Once Upon a time...
Then came the frog...
Then one night in the still and quiet as she laid down to sleep something was amiss outside her window. A shadow outside her window came in it was a frog. Before she even knew it the frog trapped her in a cage and carried her away form her home from her mom and everything she knew. She was taken to the kingdom of the frogs not knowing why or even what was going to happened to her. As it turns out the frog king had taken a liking to her because it had spread through the land that she had a beautiful voice. The frogs needed a star act for their traveling show throughout the forrest. So they planned to keep Thumbelina force her to marry the King thus keeping her in the kingdom forever. When she found out this plan to exploit her for her talents she knew she had to get out before the marriage was final. So she ran away under the cover of night...
Then the bettle...
When she was wondering in the woods just trying to get back to her home a bettle found her and captured her taking her back to his kingdom. But the bettle kingdom was disgusted with the way she looked because she did not look like them. So instead of trying to welcome her into the kingdom they kicked her out. Thumbelina was happy to be free and was back on her mission to get home but with the air getting a cold chill she was in trouble. Winter was approaching fast and she needed shelter or she would freeze to death...
Then the mole...
Then she stumbled onto the hole of a mole desperate she went in. When the mole was made aware of her presence (he was blind) instead of trying to exploit her, he took her in for the winter so she wouldn't freeze to death. They bonded and the mole took a liking to her and he asked her to marry him (for he was seen as the ugliest and lowliest in the forrest and he just wanted to be loved). Although Thumbelina was already in love with the prince of the fairies she felt compassion for the mole so she agreed to marry him and they began to make the preparations for the wedding to happen in the spring. Thumbelina's heart however, still longed for her prince...
The prince comes to save the day
The tables were set the preparations were made. (fairly quickly for neither of them had people to even invite) Thumbelina walked down the aisle towards the mole ready to say I do to the mole cause at least she would be taken care of. At least, even if she never got to go home or see the prince again, she would not be lonely in her life. These were the thoughts she had as she walked down the aisle. But suddenly a gust of wind blew into the hole kicking up dirt and dust and Thumbelina could not see. When the dust settled it was the prince! He had finally found her again and he was there to object the wedding for he loved her more than anything and he wanted to marry her. The mole seeing the love between the two of them released Thumbelina from getting married to him and she got engaged the prince her true love. But only fairies could live in the fairy kingdom so when she married the prince she got her very own wings! She was there finally in the place where she knew she belonged with the people who were just her size.
This collection is the Royal Garden Party Thumbelina would thrown in celebration of her marriage.
